  2. Column: The most common milling machine. It has 5 basic components: head, knee, work table, saddle, and overarm. It is considered to be the simplest machine type.   3. Horizontal: This machine runs parallel to the ground. As the tool moves up and down, the table on which the tool is placed moves sideways.
  4. C-Frame: This one is more sturdy than the turret and is mostly used in industrial-grade operations. It has a hydraulic motor this makes it very powerful.
  5. Bed Type: The worktable can be found positioned on the bed itself and not on top. The knee part of the machine is left out so as to allow for movement in a particular direction.
  6. Trace controlled: This machine is able to reproduce parts based on a master model. It is mostly used by those in the industrial sector because it makes production and specialization of machine parts quite easy. With the plethora of milling machine classifications, you need to make a choice based on how you plan on using it.
  7. Planner: This one is mostly used for operations in mass production. They are similar to the bed type milling machine, except that it can be mounted with various cutters and spindle heads to the machine.
